God the Master Plan Maker
“I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the LORD. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.”- Jeremiah 29:11
God is the ultimate plan maker. He plans out our lives from day to day even from the day we were born. He knew about us even before we were conceived by our parents to be His people with a purpose (Jeremiah 1:5, Romans 8:28). No matter if God’s purpose in our life is pain or success, God will sustain us to fulfill His plans for us (Psalm 138:8).
God’s plan for Jesus was for Him to die to save sinners (John 3:16). For Paul, God allowed him to go through trials to keep him from becoming too prideful (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). For us, God’s plans are to give us hope and a good future. As a Christian, our future is focused on heaven and God's plans to prepare us for it. That is the reason we should expect our plans to change, especially if they are not according to God's will (Proverbs 16:1).
We make plans, but they do not always work out the way we want. We can trust God when they do not because “we know that in everything God works for the good of those who love Him. They are the people He called, because that was His plan (Romans 8:28).” Our lives are not controlled by chance or fate, but by God, the One who is too loving to be unkind and too wise to make a mistake.
Prayer of the day:
Dear heavenly Father,
You are the Master plan maker. You made the plan to create us even before our parent’s knew about us. That shows how wonderful Your plans are and nothing can stop them from happening. Jesus’ death showed Your plan to save humanity. It is hard to understand or trust Your plans at times but we want to trust You no matter what. Please help us know that no matter what happens that You are still in control. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
