How Well Does God Know You?
“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”- Jeremiah 1:5
How well does God know you? According to Jeremiah 1:5, He knows us very well. So much so that He knew about us even before we were born. That says a lot about His sovereignty over creation (Proverbs 16:9). He knew people were going to be born even before their parents did. He even chooses people and sets them apart for a special task. He did with Jeremiah. His special task was to become a prophet.
God knows us so well that He even knows how many hairs we have on our head (Matthew 10:30). Not even our parents, our friends, or siblings know that about us. We can understand how well God knows us from Matthew 6:8 that says, “your Father knows the things you need before you ask Him.” Therefore, we do not have to worry about tomorrow because God provides for our needs each day like He does for the birds, and we are more valuable to God than they are (Matthew 6:26).
God also knows us so well that He knew that we were in need of a Savior. We are because we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard (Romans 3:23). God is gracious to provide us with an alternative to eternal punishment in hell for our sins. His plan all along was to save sinners like us by allowing Jesus to be crucified on the cross at Calvary (John 3:16, Matthew 1:21).
Prayer of the day:
Dear heavenly Father,
Thank you for creating us with a special task in mind for us. You do know us very well, so much so that You know how many hairs we have on our heads. Not even our earthly parents know that. We were created in Your image and pray that we represent You in everything we do. You are merciful, kind, and ready to forgive us; therefore, please help us to do the same. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
