Jesus is the Way

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6

Jesus said that He is the only way to God. He does not just show us the way, but He is the way. It is all possible by God’s mercy and grace. So, do not let people fool you into thinking that it is by our good works because there is no “good” in us. This is the case so no one can boast or save themselves because we were born sinners (Romans 5:8, 3:10). The good things we do are only possible with God and the help from the Holy Spirit.

If we think we are pretty good, then it is easy to turn to ourselves instead of God. Today, there are some religions that think that it does not matter what you believe. As long as you are sincere and with “some good” in you, it can lead you to heaven. That is not true because Jesus says, “No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Jesus does not only teach us about the truth of God but is the truth. He is also our only source of life including both eternal and spiritual. Jesus was God’s plan for salvation before the foundation of the world for people who believe. His plan of salvation brings Him glory instead of ourselves. Because of God’s plan, we can be truly thankful for what He has done, and we can praise Him forever and ever.

Prayer of the day:

Dear heavenly Father,

Thank you for Jesus. He is the only way to You. We can be in heaven with You because of Jesus and through Your plan to save us. You are merciful and we are excited to experience Your grace every day. Help us not to allow others to trick us into thinking there are other ways to heaven. We pray for others who do not know Jesus so they can be saved. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
