Our Warning of Wars
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” -Matthew 24:6-7
In Matthew 24:6-7, God warns us about war. We should not be surprised or scared to hear about war all around the world. Nations will fight against each other. There are a lot of stories in the Bible about war. War is not new, especially for God. There was a big war in heaven between God and Satan. Satan was trying to overtake God’s throne in heaven but was not strong enough for God and His army of angels. They defeated Satan and his demon followers and were cast out of heaven to earth (Revelation 12:7-9).
War will not end until Jesus returns. We can turn to the promise of God that one day He will make everything new. God will create a new place where He will dwell. In God’s new dwelling place all the old ways will be gone. There will be no more death, sadness, pain, or crying because God will take it all away. We will live with God forever; we will be His people and He will be our God (Revelation 21:1-5).
Things on earth will only get worse before it gets better. For now, we must be prepared for things like war, earthquakes, and famines. We need to pray constantly, never give up hope, and always turn to the word of God for comfort and security in the difficult times.
Prayer of the day:
Dear heavenly Father,
Please comfort us during our times of trouble. Give us strength to get through each battle. Help us stay focused on Jesus and on Your promise of heaven. We cannot wait until the day You make everything new. We also want to pray for the families who are impacted by war and hope they find comfort and peace in You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
