The Real Meaning of Life
“Bring to Me all the people who are Mine, whom I made for my glory, whom I formed and made.”- Isaiah 43:7
People wonder why they are alive. What is their purpose on the earth? Isaiah 43:7 plainly states the answer is to bring glory to God. Everything we do should cause people to praise God. That includes what we eat or drink, how we treat others, and in our works (Matthew 5:16, 1 Corinthians 10:31).
We can demonstrate God’s glory through our actions. Matthew 5:43-45 says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemies.’ But I say to you, love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you. If you do this, you will be true children of your Father in heaven.” Another way we can demonstrate God’s glory is not repaying the mean things people do to us, but defeating the evil by doing good which involves loving, forgiving, and praying for them (Romans 12:17-21).
When we do these things, it gives our life a very special meaning and a purpose, and that is to allow people to experience the great things God has done and to give Him all the praise, honor, and glory (John 15:8).
Prayer of the day:
Dear heavenly Father,
We have a purpose for our life, and it is to bring You glory. You deserve it. You created the world, and it is Yours. Help us to bring You glory in everything we do. What we do shows that we are Your children and want You to receive all the glory, honor and praise. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
