Who’s in Charge of God’s Creation
“God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’”-Genesis 1:28
God put humans in charge of His creation. He created humans to care for all the animals, the land, and the sea (Genesis 1:26). Adam and Eve were the first people God put in charge (Genesis 2:15). At first, they oversaw the Garden of Eden until they disobeyed God and were thrown out (Genesis 3:23-24).
After being kicked out of the garden, God put Adam in charge of the lands of the earth and in charge of his family. God told him because of his disobedience, he will have to work hard to maintain the earth as his punishment (Genesis 3:17-19). The same goes for men today, they must work hard to maintain God’s creation.
God also put men in charge of their families. Because God put men in charge of their families, their wives are to respect their husbands (Genesis 3:16, Ephesians 5:33). Husbands are to treat their wives like Jesus treated His church with kindness and love. Men are also supposed to care for his parents as they get older when they cannot care for themselves. God puts parents in charge of their children. Parents are supposed to teach them how to treat and respect others and to encourage them to find their natural talents that God gives them (Proverbs 22:6).
God puts people in charge of the government offices to help run each country. God tells us that we are to yield to each leader that He places there (Romans 13:1). The only reason for us not to obey is if they make us do something that is against the word of God like if they tell us to bow down and worship them or to confess they are God instead of the God of the Bible. If we do, then we are breaking God’s first commandment, “You shall have no other God's before me,” and we are making them an idol.
Prayer of the day:
Dear heavenly Father,
You are the creator of the world and put people in charge of it. Because of Eve’s disobedience You allowed Adam to be in charge of everything including his family. Help us to have respect for our leaders that You put into government office. If they do not do what You want them to do, please help our leaders to change and to listen and respect You. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
